It is the desire of Manatee County Search and Rescue to maintain a high standard of professionalism to the public as well as other agencies to accomplish the main mission which is the safety of the public.  Manatee County Search and Rescue can be contacted to conduct joint training, instruction and demonstrations to those interested parties. Training, Instruction and Demonstrations can be offered either free of charge or for a minimal charge depending on a matrix of factors

TRAINING AND COURSE OFFERINGS:

INTRODUCTION TO GRID SEARCH:  
This course offers a general overview on how to conduct and participate in a Grid / Line search.
Course consists of a classroom presentation as well as two practical field exercises. Course
length is a minimum 5 hours. May be longer for classes in excess of 15 attendee's. 

INTRODUCTION TO LAND NAVIGATION
This course teaches the attendee's the basic skills required to navigate land mass.  Course includes
a classroom overview and power point presentation as well as several practical field exercises.  Upon
completion of this course the attendee's will be able to use several types of Compass, read multiple
types of land maps as well as a understanding geo-referencing.  This is a minimum 6 hour course. 

SEARCH TACTICS / LAND 
This course will allow you to build upon the information you obtained from "Introduction to Grid Search" and 
"Introduction to Land Navigation".  You will learn the different types of search tactics, which ones are best
suited for your current mission as well as terminology.

HELICOPTER LANDING ZONE SAFETY:  
This course will show students how to successfully set up a landing zone for inbound helicopters.  These
zones will be used for day as well as night operations. This course will average 4 hours and includes class
room setting as well as practical field exercises.

CPR / FIRST AID / AED / OXYGEN ADMINISTRATION: 
These courses can be offered individually or as a core group know as CPR PRO.
Class schedule is 1 - 3 days depending on courses selected.  Upon completion
participants will be given completion cards issued by the American Red Cross.
All courses are taught by the MCSAR Safety Instructor who is a certified Instrutor
under the American Red Cross guidelines. These courses will have fee's.
